Terms of service

This is the agreement between you and Qoyla. We have tried to write it like a human being, not a contract machine. It covers what we give you, what we expect in return, and what happens if things go wrong.

Effective 1 May 2026 Version 4.0 In effect

01Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using Qoyla, you agree to these terms. If you are using Qoyla on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have the authority to bind it.

If you do not agree, that is completely fine, but you should not use the service. Where your bank or institution offers Qoyla to you, their agreement with you may add to these terms; if anything conflicts, the stricter consumer protection applies.

02What Qoyla is

Qoyla is a financial advisor that connects to your accounts read-only, turns the data into clear next steps, and keeps a record of its reasoning. It can calculate your Safe-to-Spend, build plans, flag risks, decode charges and answer questions.

Your money stays in your bank. Qoyla holds no balances and initiates no transfers on its own. When an action involves moving money, your bank executes it only after you approve.

03What Qoyla is not

We want to be honest about our limits.

  • Qoyla provides guidance and tools, not regulated financial, legal or tax advice from a licensed professional. For decisions with big consequences, talk to a qualified adviser.
  • Qoyla is not a bank and does not hold deposits. Your relationship with your money stays with your bank.
  • We aim for accuracy, but data from third parties can be delayed or incomplete. Always sanity-check before acting on anything important.

04Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access, the faster we know, the faster we can help. You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information when you sign up.

05You approve every action

This is the heart of how Qoyla works. Qoyla may propose actions, but you decide. Every approval is explicit, and most are reversible. The reason, the data, the action and the outcome are saved in your Proof Record, so you always have a clear account of what happened and why.

06Acceptable use

Use Qoyla lawfully and honestly. The specifics, what you agree not to do, live in our Acceptable use policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: do not break the law, abuse the service, or try to harm others through it.

07Fees

Where Qoyla is offered through your bank, your access may be free or covered by them. Where fees apply, we show them clearly before you commit, and we will give you notice before any change. You can see current pricing on our pricing pages.

08Our intellectual property

Qoyla, its software, brand and content are ours or our licensors'. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the service while these terms are in force. Your data stays yours, you simply give us permission to process it to provide the service, as described in the Privacy policy.

09Liability

We work hard to make Qoyla reliable, but no software is perfect, and the service is provided "as is" to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for decisions you make based on guidance after your own judgement. Nothing here limits liability the law does not allow us to limit, including for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10Ending the agreement

You can close your account whenever you like, from settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or end access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, or if we must for legal or security reasons, and we will tell you why where we can. On closure, we handle your data as set out in the Privacy policy.

11Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without affecting the mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in. We would always rather resolve a problem by talking first, so please reach out before anything escalates.
